Day 2: Favorite Starter

#498 – Tepig
  It loves to eat roasted berries, but sometimes it gets too excited and burns them to a crisp.

I never played Black/White but I think Tepig is adorable and I love its evolutions! So I drew a mamma Emboar and her sleepy son.

Hit an art block and finally decided to do some pokemon variations to break through it. Used a random pokemon generator and got Mega Gardevoir. Instead of breeding variations I decided to change up the “dress” based on different dance styles.

Bottom left: Pasadoble | Top: Baile Folklorico | Bottom Right: Ballet

The folklorico variation is my favorite.

First of what will probably be a few OC dumps. Starting it off with my Pokemon Trainers.

Jamie. I don’t actually have Alpha Sapphire but if I did this would be my alt trainer. More focused on exploring and finding Pokemon pals than battling. His first Pokemon is a Poochyena named Tristan. Second was a female Shroomish named Rosemarry who he spoils because he thinks she’s just the cutest. Later additions to his team are Marius the Larvitar, and Vivienne the Snorunt who evolves later into a Froslass. Also on his team: a Combee (named Anora) he received in a mystery trade and since he didn’t know much of the species was very surprised to have evolve into a Vespiquen, and a Flygon he raised from a Trappinch.

Oliver is my Omega Ruby trainer, and is all about the contests. (Note: I drew him in his contest outfit, he’s not always so over the top). His first Pokemon was a Zigzagoon who he named Tybalt. He’s always in his party. One of his prized Pokemon is his Milotic, Lorelei, who he raised from an egg. She’s his Beauty contest star. Also on the team : Kiarr (Swampert), Aaron (Gallade), Rowan (Emboar), and Cheran (Shiftry). 

Jamie is Oliver’s older brother. Their parents own a berry farm which is where Oliver learned his pokeblock techniques. Jamie worked the farm and sometimes helped out his grandparents who run a small pokemon daycare. 
When Oliver decided to go out on a pokemon journey, their parents wouldn’t let him unless Jamie went to look after him. Jamie went along without argument because he had secretly always wanted to go out on an adventure of his own.

Émile is my Kalos trainer from pokemon X. He’s from a wealthy family, his parents are workaholics and were rarely home to spend time with him. They bought him a Fennekin for a companion when he was young and he decided to train a team to take on the Kalos pokemon league. After defeating all 8 gyms, he wasn’t able to defeat the Elite Four and got bored settling back into his life until his cousin Lucy (who belongs to deviousbee​) living in the Hoenn region told him about the Pokemon Contest Spectacular. He immediately convinced his parents to get him a ticket to Hoenn where he met up with Lucy and her travelling companions, Oliver and Jamie. Émile and Oliver unintentionally fell for each other Oliver tried teaching him the basics of pokemon contests.
His team consists of Joli his Gardevoir, Bayard his Delphox, as well as Magnus (Roserade), Opal (Mawile), Vesta(Talonflame), and Hilde(Doublade).

Aeon is my Johto trainer from Soul Silver. He was originally going to be a pokemon contest star as well, but there aren’t contests in Johto. What they do have, however, is the Pokéathalon Dome. He started his journey with his best friend Ariel (also one of deviousbee​‘s characters) in Mahagony town. Ariel, a trainer aspiring to one day reach Morty’s knowledge as a ghost pokemon expert, trained a team to take on the Elite Four to prove herself while Aeon went along to train his team for competitions. He enjoys hiking and the exploration involved in their journey, and while he didn’t catch many pokemon, he’s very close to his team.
His team: Sen(Furret) his very first catch, Ellis (Typhlosion), Myrtle (Mismagius), Azula(Ampharos), Garth(Kadabra), and Isabelle(Gyarados).

This was so much fun, thanks to roman-sunshine and cosasystuff for encouraging me to draw my OCs. 

:B I should probably add in deviousbee‘s lady trainers who these guys travel with.

Side note on ages: I never really found the idea of kids leaving home at 10-12 years old and wandering the creature infested forests alone to be plausible, so I made 16 a minimum age for pokemon journeys as far as my own headcanon is concerned.
